Gift Idea

If a gift is your intention,
we thought it would be good to mention,
we’d love some pennies to put together
to save for something we will treasure
But always remember what matters the most,

Our Love Story
The year was 2013, and two young first years named Shannon and Nick both managed to find themselves in residences at Tuks - and their residences would be partnered together for the year. As if fate knew that timing was imperative, they were in each other’s orbits but wouldn’t formally meet for another almost two years. Shannon was still dating a boy back home, and Nick was quite ready for the single life at varsity. Both enamored with res life, they were eventually elected to their respective House Committees at the end of their second years, and the universe decided that finally, now was the right time for them to meet - on August 28th 2014, in a Burger King (just like in the fairytales).
Three days later, Nick (having left it until the last minute) needing a date for his residence formal dinner the following week, decided to take the plunge and ask Shannon to accompany him - from then, the two became inseparable.
Once Shannon had finished varsity, it was time for internship - which meant two years of long distance dating. At last, after being placed in Joburg for her community service year in 2021, they could finally move in together and in November, Nick got down on one knee, Shannon said yes, and the rest, as they say, is history.
